These works located in a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and an area governed by Natural England required strict environmental management and supervision.

The scope of works for this project comprised construction of a new embankment access road to maintain access during seasonal flooding periods. The works included PCC headwalls and pipework, drainage grips, erosion control matting, grasscrete, PCC kerbs and surfacing works. The works also included the use of specialist environmental membranes used for the first time in any UK project.

The service yard works comprised a fibre reinforced concrete slab bounded by hit and miss fencing and gates. With drainage and service trenches to take power and water to designated outlets.
